When I was in college in Brooklyn Heights the Express did run. It was Church Avenue, Seventh Avenue, Bergen (lower platform), Jay Street. Took 10 minutes. Was great when I was out all night and had to make it to class with minutes to go.

I use the Fort Hamilton stop as well. But my main issue with the F is delays due to congestion, crowds due to delays. If the F starts running express I am sure that would help.

Also my understanding is that some F's would run express and others local. Half the time I end up at Church anyway because my F which has been stuck in traffic for an hour is suddenly going express.

Hi. First of all, welcome back. I was really missing the blog this summer and was getting worried. Sorry about the burglary, congrats on the wedding.
Regarding F-express: I also live on the Fort Hamilton stop but I don't care, I will walk 5 minutes longer to Church Ave but skip some stops on the way to the city. I just don't think that the F should stop at Bergen Street. Unless it has to because it is the only chance to transfer to the G? I guess they would have to re-run the G anyway since it is in the way of the F-express, and so is the damn V-train.
I just worry this is only one of Bloomberg's moves to get re-elected. I got a mailing recently from the Bloomberg campaign about how the public transport sucks and how he wants to fix it. Hello? What have you done for the last 8 years?
For now, I am enjoying the G-train run till Church Ave.

Thank you for the kind words.

Yes, the F-Express was my own "Silver Streak" to the "Big City" back when platform shoes were "in" and Nixon was checking "out" of that big White House back in the 70's.

And yes Denny's actually served steak back then too.

But now with my hair all a grey and my old platform shoes recycled into Con Edison cones, I suffer every day on a long boring ride on the F local. Knowing that a long time ago in a galaxy far far away there was once an F-Express that probably took 15 minutes off my ride to the city.

Oh, well by the time they get it running again I'll probably be retired from work, but maybe my son will enjoy it ten years from now.
