amNY: A Food Lover's Guide to Kensington

Reblog: see amNY.com
This stretch of Church Avenue may be low-key and scruffy, but wedged between dental clinics, discount stores and beauty parlors are restaurants and shops representing a dozen nationalities, including Polish, Albanian, Thai and Bangladeshi.

Take the F or G train to Church Avenue. Start at McDonald Avenue and walk toward Coney Island Avenue.

For those who can't wait for this blog to be updated, check out the Ditmas Park blog, it's always new, with some great stuff close by. Check out the "Brooklyn Farming" story and video http://vimeo.com/6137263.

The reason this blog is no longer active is because gentrification has stalled. This blog has always been about promoting the values of the more affluent newcomers at the expense of all others. Since they have realized that their dreams of a neighborhood "renaissance" are hopeless for the time being, they have given up.

Muhammad, I think your blood sugar is running low during Ramadan - it makes the vision dimmer. Haven't you noticed the Hipstorm of Summer '09? There are more Kensington newcomers everyday.

Maybe they just have lower expectations for returns on their real estate investments these days.

Hmmm class warfare against all things hipster i.e. change is bad, race baiting plugging another blog, and yet Chris hasn't weighed in in months! This place really has hit rock bottom. Did we pass the gay marriage thing? Who is Steve again? :)

uh oh guess we are now not even allowed to post with out approval. Like I said...

I am enjoying watching you talk to yourself. Comment moderation is turned on for posts older than 4 weeks to avoid spam. It has always been like this. We hit the 4 week mark on this post 3 days ago.
