Where the cool kids go

Rumor has it there's a hot new bar in the Kensington area called "Jerbar." Yelpers are talking about it but we haven't heard from any of you. I get the feeling like it has sort of a speakeasy vibe going. Maybe you need to know a password to get in. Have any readers been there? Let us know. We can't abide other people having fun and excluding us.

Sounds like quite an interesting bar!

Interestingly, if you type "jerbar" into Yelp's search, nothing is found. You have to actually type Jerbar brooklyn in google for the Yelp page to come up.

This may be a hoax, as I live on that block and believe me there is no bar there. Unless it's waaaaaaaay underground. I think it's a joke by the people who live in that house. Sounds like I have some pretty fun neighbors, though!

No such address. I looked it up on propertyshark.com and it doesn't exist. Another hoax by a zany Kensingtonian. Ha ha.

As a "yelper" I can assure you it's a hoax invented by some people with far too much time on their hands.

The origins, if you really care to know, date back to this fellow:

So, this was a hoax? There are thousands of bars sprinkled throught nyc, find one and make it cool yourself, don't wait for the "cool kids" to tell you where they hang out.
