Where is "the old Jimmy's," for the uninitiated?
Corner of Fort Hamilton Parkway & East 4th Street
anyone gonna help me keep the sky from falling?
wow, new coffee shop, new sushi, improved foodtown. We are actually becoming a neighborhood.
Shhhh. The walls have ears (and WiFi)
Thanks, Jackie! A little far from me but might be worth checking out.
Hey dianora if you make the trek also on East 4th is the East 4th (Kensington) Community Garden, it's worth a look.

then we can all visit our lovely neighborhood library!
Now lets all calm down Ruth, did you know that place allows books and newspapers? It might even have (gasp) internet access! :)
who's upset? I can get all those around the corner in the library and the internet is free!
Wifi at a cafe is truly exciting. I can't wait to go there and get connected to the world.
Ruthanne I was making a tongue in cheek comment. I think the library, books, free wifi and people learning new things are all good things. Some people have made a point of complaining about wifi enabled coffee shops being the bane of a neighborhood, supposedly next stop we're outer/lower Park Slope.
what's the update on this? does anyone know when it's finally supposed to open? i peeked in once, and was disappointed to see all the cheap-o furniture....hopefully they will manage to give it a nice vibe.
I walked past the soon to be open place- so far, it looks really pretty but there are wooden chairs/tables, not the cozy chairs I was hoping for. Not that I am complaining. I can't even believe that this place is going to open.
I went by today and took a peek inside. It's really lovely looking and much bigger than it looks from the outside. The owner said he is hoping to open tomorrow, with hours being 7am - 6pm.
Tomorrow? That's fantastic. Looks like the tables and coffee machines (!!!) are coming along nicely. Any word on the type of fare they'll be offering? They look like a good place to sit down and grab a quick breakfast or sandwich. Not a coffee lounge or Park Slopey overpriced brunch spot where you pay $25 a head for goat cheese and polenta with your breakfast (thank goodness).
Cannot wait to try it out!
