I recently moved into a new apartment at the Park Circle at 346 Coney IslandAvenue. I know you have covered this building before and there was a general feeling amongst posters that the building is a negative for the area.
I was looking for a new apartment for the past 3 years. Hardly a weekend went by that I wasn't attending open houses. I was looking in LIC, Sunnyside, Astoria, Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Bed-Stuy, Clinton Hill and Fort Greene. I liked a few of the apartments I saw and even made an offer on two of them, but in the end there was always a big negative either about the apartment, the building or the neighborhood that I couldn't overcome in my mind. I started looking at Park Circle 18 months ago. I watched it's progress and checked out every apartment in it. Six months ago, I knew this was it. In all, this was, by far, the best value I came across. And the neighborhood was great, I got a really good vibe everytime I came to the area.
I read some of the previous posts on the blog about Park Circle and the issues that were raised have proved moot. The walk to the subway is easy and takes 4-5minustes, tops. The noise levels are nil (can't speak for the apts facing onto CIA, but any time I was in them during open houses, I did not notice any noise levels unless the terrace doors/ windows were open). The ceiling heights are 9'+ and the rooms are spacious. Having seen a lot of new buildings, the detail and finish at Park Circle is way up there with the best I have seen- and I'm not saying that because I live here, rather that's one of the big reasons I bought here. Shopping is a bit dire but that is about the biggest negative I've come up with and I am sure over time more stores will open. I have met a lot of the new neighbors and they are all very excitied to be here.
That seems to say it all! Welcome to the neighborhood!
