Lamppost K-style

We don't know lamppost wiring protocol but this just seems a tad bit hazardous to us. A couple loops around the pole with some electrical tape and we're done! This lamppost is located on Beverly and Ocean Pkwy a pretty well utlized walking area. Are we being overly critical here?
