Cafe Sim-Sim

We just found this menu in the foyer.

Cafe Sim-Sim - 312 Ditmas Ave. (E3rd St. and Ditmas Ave)

Menu boasts Caucasian, Russian and European Cuisine. Yeah, we know caucasian cuisine is from the Caucasus but it was sort of funny.

Yes. It's simply divine.

My husband and I ate there on a Friday night a few months ago while we were looking for a bite to eat in the area. The food was decent as far as I recall, but the most memorable part was the live (Russian) music -- kind of unique for this neighborhood and such a small restaurant.

Moved to Kensington a few months ago and finally tried Cafe Sim-Sim, after being initially deterred by the dark glass and mysterious menu -- one of the best finds in the neighborhood! Good beef kebab with unique and delicious sautéed french fries with cilantro and onion. Yummy lobster bisque. Sweet chef showed off the kitchen and food preparation while friendly waiter Alexei translated into English for me. Dark, bar-like atmosphere. Try it!

WOW totally not what i expected the food is unprecedented (great not somthing you could easily find for this price and this close) this place is unique from the dim atmosphere to the friendly cook to the greatest "kafkaz, azerbaijan, european, and other food" by the way this is the only authentic azerbaijan restauraunt in Brooklyn. The reason why i went to Sim-Sim cafe was because i read an article in the voice about them and saw that they got first place for 2008 best azerbaijan and european dish and restauraunt .....

From the best food the friendly waiter staff to the live yes (live a guy singing) music it was a good experience and i am sure to come back to Sim-Sim Cafe

if you try it you wont regret it from thier huge great and inexpensive portions of food

wow my mouth is watering lol........go there and try it Best Place atleast in brooklyn

I went to sim sim with my family the other day, and WOW I never knew it was a good place. I mean I always passed by. So finally we went in. The prices are really low especially comparing to other places in brooklyn. The protions are to big there, not sure how they even make profit..lol,
I peeked in the kithcen and it is true my shish kebab was being cooked on coal, no stove or fire like usually, thats why it tasted so good. You should try their soups, im a regular there now and no more turkish asian, this is the cheapest and tasiest place in brooklyn. Get back guys if my review helped. btw the chef is a nice guy and they have live music on weekends or sumthing
