Local resident and architect, Ellen Honigstock, continues presenting seminars on being green in the home. The Perch date is noteworthy b/c local Kensington res and bar keep at Perch, Terrance, posted the following in the comments section. "I'm bartending that night at Perch cafe, and I assuredly promise drink specials. (maybe super-special drink specials if you prove you are also a Kensington resident...!)". Kensingtonians that like to have a cocktail or two while needing to decipher between appropriate solar panels this one is for you!

Hmmmm... Greening your home? Free range beef? SUV hate? This sounds more like a 7th Ave Park Slope blog than a Kensington blog. I'd like a blog that highlights the vast diversity of Kensington rather than one that campaigns for gentrification and yuppie fads.
dang!!!! I'm going to be in class. I think this is pretty kewl and being Hispanic I don't know if I qualify for gentrification rights (j/k). I would argue this is more diversity coming into the neighborhood.
This is only tangentially related, but does anyone know of a place to recycle plastic bags in the Kensington/Windsor Terrace area? My roommate and I have canvas bags now, but we still have a large number of plastic bags that we don't want to just put in the trash.
is it possible to recycle plastic bags? i am cutting my plastic bags into strips and knitting them into shopping bags. way better than spending money on canvas bags and more stylish too!
