Considering the success of the recent F train petition it only makes sense to get one for the Kensington Post Office! Below is from de Blasio's office which has been instrumental in supporting residents in thier concerns for better service at KPO.
We have already collected thousands of names and are asking for everyone who has not signed the petition to now do so. If you have not signed the paper petition to increase money for the post office in 11218 we made it a little easer for you by putting it online. Make sure you sign the petition today!

Holy crap I hate our post office. I was wondering though. Ever since I moved here 2 years ago I have had such trouble getting packages at my building. It's been pretty bad, packages from friends, my folks, even Amazon have been continually sent back because I didn't get a notice. Is this at all related to the incompetence at the P.O.? Or is it just my building (I live near Church and Dahill)? Has anyone had similar problems?
Nope... living in the neighbourhood for more than 18 years.
Is the mailperson on vacation, no mail in two days..OP/Ave C..I usually get some kind of mail everyday. To Mafoo this is why I have been receiving packages at Mailboxes, etc for years..comes to over $400 per year..If it fits thru the door they will hold it. I can't be bothered wondering if my packages arrived and I don't have to deal with the Post office.
I have had numerous problems with package delivery, no notices, packages returned, etc. I have called 1800 ASK USPS to log complaints more times than I can count, but it hasn't resolved anything. After my latest package fiasco/complaint a couple of weeks ago, I got a garbled message from "Ray" at the K'ton post office asking me to call him so he could "get more information" about my complaint. I have called about 5 times and no one ever answers the phone! It's really a joke.
Been a "customer" there for years and called in my complaint and the delivery guy confronted me while ACTUALLY delivering a package the manager gave him orders to get to me first thing in the morning. I stood there and told him I knew his lil trick of leaving slips- never ringing my bell. He spoke back, to my 8 month pregnant self looking very upset and I slammed the door by telling him I was calling the station back to complain about his lil delivery to me. I did, packages came ok the next few times He was cordial but that ended and I still see him filling out the slips by his truck! UGHHHHhh He'll really loathe me now.
A lot depends on your regular carrier. I've lived in the neighborhood for five years and seldom had a problem until recently. My former carrier told me that they don't want to give him the overtime. The results are misdelivered and lost packages, periodicals that come days and even weeks late, etc.
Our carrier also leaves slips without ringing. Following the information on the slip, I went to the Kensington PO at 8am on Sat to get my package only to learn that it opens at 9:30. The indignant clerk (yes, it is staffed but not open) thought it was my mistake for believeing the slip. He even lied saying that I must have gotten an old slip. The slip is far newer than the hours posted on the PO door.
