Prospect Lefferts United for Services or PLUS is an organization formed by a couple PLG residents who wanted to improve the area. A few weeks ago they organized a graffiti removal day and today on Across the Park we saw this call for volunteers for planting along Lincoln Road. For some 'historic' proof on what can be done look here for 2 posts (BP's Crew Cleans Lincoln Road Development Site AND 99 Ocean To Join Graffiti Removal and Storefront Improvement) re: graffiti removal.
We've spoke to Mark Dicus, the president of PLUS, about creating something similar in Kensington but are still unsure of the best way to organize... Should we use Dahill and ANA Neighborhood Associations? Should we try and simply organize a graffiti removal day and get people together? Would it be beneficial to organize a committed core group and do something along the same lines as PLUS? Are people in Kensington even interested in uniting for graffiti removal or planting? What are your opinions?
