Today is the first day of Transportation Alternatives Bike Month NYC. In honor of the great event (though you are right it is not specifically Kensington news) I'm suggesting you take a ride down our beautiful Ocean Parkway. We Kensingtonians are lucky enough to have the off road bike path begin at our doorstep (Church Ave.)! If you aren't a big bike person the ride is perfect for you because it's flat, off street and in many areas shaded. If you're an avid biker you'll still enjoy the ride, believe me. The ride down Ocean Pkwy will let you take in some great architecture and bring you through various nabes before ending in beautiful Brighton Beach where you can stop for a cold one at the many cafes near the boardwalk before heading back.
I would also suggest marking your calendar for June 3rd which is the Tour de Brooklyn. The Tour starts at Grand Army Plaza but actually streams through Kesington near the end of the ride!
