We will start serving homestyle Thai cooking starting this Tuesday, May 8th. We will do dine in, take out and delivery service. Soon after we will add on little outdoor seating in the front of the restaurant. Please come and join us on grand opening day. Our address is 3019 Ft Hamilton Pkwy between E2/E3. The phone number is 718-436-6932.
Someone else mentioned that the building going up on the corner of Fort Hamilton and East 3rd will house a Dunkin' Donuts. No word yet on the authenticity of the rumor but we're meeting with a representative from di Blasio's office on Wednesday and will be sure to ask.

YAYYYYY!!!
Yayyy to Thai Tony's from here too!
What a shame about the Dunkin Donuts--there's already one in the neighborhood (CIA and Caton). I know it's a free country and all the rest of it, but what we don't need are more crappy major chains like DD. If a major chain could come in, I'd have Starbucks--it would add something we don't have (a coffee shop) and be able to pay the inflated rents. And, maybe, it would stimulate more commercial diversity. When we have this little retail, two Dunkin Donuts is all the more frustrating.
we walked by thai tony's on saturday and saw the owner. she was very nice and we expressed our (and the neighborhood's) want/need for a sit-down place. she seemed to agree with that. we'll see - hopefully, TT is here to stay.
as for Dunkin Donuts...i'm all for it. love their coffee. also, have you ever been to one that's empty? they ALWAYS have customers.
Hate DD's. Hate their coffee--it's a matter of taste, I know, but it is so weak and the beans are cheap. And it isn't really a cafe either, more another fast food joint.
The earlier poster's point was we already have a DD in the area, within walking distance, no less. Given how little we have here, some variety would be nice.
Isn't this the Kensington blog? Why worry about something on FHP? That's Windsor Terrace ;)
I thought FHP is the divider between the two. This is so petty.
Caton's the dividing line (the boundary runs through the middle of the road) but, yes, it's petty and I thought/assumed 5.07 was being ironic.
I live in Kensington and I have legs. I plan on using them tonight when I walk to FHP for some Thai...
i'm with jake!
it seems too bad that Thai is more of a take out place than a real sit down restaurant.
So my girlfriend and I stopped in for dinner last night after work and had a great meal. The service is friendly and quick, the decor is nice enough and the food was fantastic. We'll definitely be returning often. Make sure you try the "spicy basil chicken" (I think that's what it was called) and the peanut sauce. Oh, and it's BYOB until the license comes through, which is always nice on the wallet.
I ordered delivery from them and they gave me my spring roll appetizers free! They were truly happy to hear how welcome they are in the neighborhood when I told them I got their number from the web site. Now I have their menu and plan to use it!
Thai Tony could be the catalyst on this long abandonned commercial strip. There is a strong need for this type of business. The owner of the restaurant is extremely friendly you feel welcome. However if they want to be more than an other mediocre take out place, they have to change cook. This is not good homestyle thai. even the rice was too dry. We will definitely check the place again in couple month to give them time to get their act together in the kitchen. I am looking forward to be wowed by some yummy thai.
